Job Scope 
 
The Lead Systems Engineer will play a critical role in advancing the design, development, and production of next-generation laboratory systems for both Research and Diagnostics markets. This position focuses on providing technical leadership, ensuring alignment with business goals, and facilitating seamless collaboration with manufacturing partners. The Lead Systems Engineer will drive continuous improvement, oversee key technical decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, manufacturable systems within budget and on aggressive timelines, while working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilties 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define workstreams and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide expertise in establishing key decisions and goals that propel the Systems Design & Integration (SD&I) efforts in achieving program milestones.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between DiaSorin and the OEM (Sanmina) for the NES project.
  • Facilitate the OEM’s ability to scale up instrument production efficiently, delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Responsible for critical investigations, design enhancements, and process improvements
  • Drive continuous product optimization and performance.
  • Responsible for and approves outputs from SD&I contributors, ensuring that all deliverables meet established standards.
  • Key liaison with Marketing, QA, RA, Planning, Field Service, Manufacturing, Clinical Affairs, and Tech Pubs to support program goals and post-launch activities.
  • Provide technical expertise to senior leadership, influencing product development strategies and system architecture decisions.
  • Manage projects budgets, timelines and documentation

 

 

Education Experience & Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering Degree required (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or Systems Engineering). required
  • Master's Degree preferred in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience. preferred
  • 8+ Years Proven experience in engineering and product development, with a focus on complex system design and commercialization. required
  • 4+ Years Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams or projects in a technical capacity. preferred
  • System Development Expertise: Extensive experience in the development and commercialization of instruments/systems, with a track record of delivering market-ready products. (Expert proficiency) (High proficiency)
  • Design & Production Mastery: Deep knowledge of component/system design, integration, and production processes, with an ability to optimize for scalability and cost. (Expert proficiency) (High proficiency)
  • Regulatory Mastery: Advanced understanding of FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other relevant standards, with experience guiding teams through compliance. (Expert proficiency) (High proficiency)
  • Leadership & Organization: Exceptional organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and mentor others under tight deadlines. (Expert proficiency) (High proficiency)

  • Reliability & Testing Acumen: Strong background in designing and executing reliability testing plans for integrated systems. (High proficiency) (High proficiency)
