Position Summary
 
The Manager, xPLORE Lab LTG reports into the Senior Director, Scientific Solutions and is a key member of the LTG global leadership team. This person serves as the LTG scientific liaison and scientific advisor to multiple departments within Luminex, Partner Management, LTG global commercial organization and leads xPLORE lab and its strategic direction. The Manager, xPLORE Lab leads all scientist-to-scientist collaboration to advance customers' and partners' success in applying Luminex's xMAP technology to achieve market development objectives. The Manager will collaborate with LTG Sales and Marketing leadership to create and deliver effective field-based communications that are aligned with organizational goals to improve customer relationships and achieve revenue growth for Luminex shareholders.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management of FAS and xPLORE lab scientists and supporting staff
  • Provide scientific oversight of assay development, validation, and analysis of samples conducted by the xPLORE lab and field based work supported by FAS scientists
  • Work closely with Luminex partners to provide scientific support of partner assays and promote collaborative efforts with the partners that advance Luminex technology
  • Maintain alignment with Sales leadership to ensure that the Sales groups are properly oriented to successfully promote Luminex technologies, partner content, and to secure business with current and prospective customers
  • Drive lead generation and conversion by working with customers to find the best solutions and work to turn these opportunities into contracts for the xPLORE lab and FAS groups.
  • Attend key scientific conferences to increase customer awareness and knowledge, present xPLORE lab work, and to increase personal knowledge of biotechnology and life science fields
  • Identify and oversee the implementation of quality systems, SOPs, and up to date training programs for the xPLORE lab
  • Support the development and execution of Marketing materials (content) to ensure xPLORE lab and FAS capabilities are well described and understood by customers
  • Assist in identifying and managing key opinion leaders who can help promote Luminex technologies
  • Manage time and expenses in alignment with business priorities
  • Lead and/or contribute to other initiatives and programs as identified, given Luminex’s fast-paced and high-growth environment
  • Lead and develop a team of Field Applications Specialists with a principal goal of proliferating our technology through quality training programs, lasting relationships, and a commitment to help customers obtain their goals in a regulatory-compliant manner
  • Champion projects that collaborate cross-functionally with all departments at Luminex to align business processes and communications that benefit customers and keep the customers’ interests and the corporate interests well balanced
  • Manage and drive the delivery of training and education for new and existing customers on software, instrumentation, maintenance, troubleshooting, assay kits, assay design, development for Luminex Products including applications in immunoassay (protein), and nucleic acid detection
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences and 4-6 years related experience and/or training 
  • Master's Degree in Life sciences with 2-4 years related experience and/or training
  • Ph.D. in Life sciences with 2-3 years related experience and/or training 
  • 4+ Years relevant work experience
  • 2+ Years Method development and assay validation experience using luminex technology 
  • 2+ Years Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • 2+ Years Field experience working with scientists that use Luminex technology to support research and drug development
  • 2+ Years Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
 
Training and Skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the internet and social media venues
  • Experience with CRM (SalesForce.com) and marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, etc.)
  • Highly organized with proven time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams to achieve the organizational goals
  • Ability to handle the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with proven record of continual learning and growth

Travel Requirements
  • 20% Domestic and International travel may be necessary
