Job Scope:

Interpreting business requirements, installing, maintaining, and supporting computer communication networks and solutions framework within an organization or between organizations. Ensuring the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum security, performance and availability for their users.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Candidate will help architect, build, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure as well as the complex network connections between international locations.
  • Candidate will help interpret business requirements and set strategic direction to drive the execution path for our networks, tools, vendors, etc.
  • Identify & document design/architecture best practices for global adoption. Help lead technical design/architecture reviews of applicable global projects.
  • Candidate will help design solutions that includes redundancy on critical equipment and services, complex routing/switching infrastructure, wireless connectivity, firewall architecture, data center design, WAN integration.
  • Develop schedules and plans, communicate progress to management in both verbal and written formats, identify barriers, identify and evaluate alternatives.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd-tier support for all areas related to network and security.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of existing IT infrastructure components to ensure network functionality, security and availability while complying to best-practice IT/Cyber-security principles and approaches.
  • Ensuring 24x7x365 operation of internal and client systems worldwide; Participate in afterhours & on call activities as needed.
  • Participate with ISO IT audits & support remediation efforts as needed.
  • Drive service providers to resolve issues in the shortest time possible.
  • Create and update documentation as needed.
  • Execute change management according to documented procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Physical work in office & plant environments including rack/stack of hardware, cabling, & troubleshooting.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends & support plans to implement in the network space

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area or at least 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • CCNA certification or higher is preferred. ITIL Foundation is a plus.
  • Masters Preferred in Information Technology with related field experience
  • Experience working with vendors to improve existing relationships, understand product roadmaps, define future capabilities, and ensure product support.
  • In-depth understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols), network topologies, and network devices (firewalls, routers, switches).
  • Hands on experience with enterprise class switches (Cisco Catalyst and Nexus series, Aruba)
  • Wireless experience preferred, Aruba Central, Aruba WLC, Cisco Meraki
  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls from major vendors (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Experience developing plans with respect to technology life cycles.
  • Knowledge of Voice, Cisco Call Manager, VPN solutions, cyber security best practices.
  • Understanding of computer server architectures, including peripheral interfaces (FCoE, SNMP, SAN, NAS) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work from a ticketing system and complete tasks within the network and security SLA is preferred.
