Sr. Director Controlling & FP&A – Molecular & Licensed Technology (LTG) Division; Austin, TX
Job Summary
The Senior Director, Financial Controlling & FP&A provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Molecular & LTG division’s Controlling and Financial Planning & Analysis functions. This role is accountable for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective planning, and insightful analysis to drive informed business decisions. Reporting to the Corporate VIce President, Group Controller, the Senior Director applies deep expertise and focus to advance the company’s financial objectives. Core responsibilities include managing financial operations, leading forecasting and budgeting processes, and delivering actionable insights to executive leadership of the Molecular & LTG Division.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide overall leadership for Controlling and FP&A functions, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, delivering insights that influence strategic decisions.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Oversee financial controlling activities, including cost management, variance analysis, and adherence to internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, IFRS standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive timely and accurate financial reporting for executive leadership and senior management presentations.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Commercial, R&D) to support decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
- Provide financial guidance for new business cases, investments, and expansion initiatives.
- Manage and mentor a team of FP&A professionals and Controllers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, by building organizational capability through training, coaching, and succession planning.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to provide proactive financial guidance and support to other teams.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or Finance
- MBA, CA, CPA and/or CMA preferred
- 10+ years in Finance, Controlling, and FP&A, with a strong foundation in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- 3+ years Minimum experience in leadership roles with direct responsibility for managing teams and complex financial processes.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proven expertise in Controlling and FP&A, including planning, performance analysis, budgeting, and consolidated reporting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and delivering actionable insights to support business objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner
- Fluent in Italian Preferred
