Job Scope

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) – Iberia acts as the trusted advisor to the Country Manager and the local leadership team, ensuring first-class delivery of HR services and people strategies that enable business success.

 

This role requires end-to-end ownership of all operational HR activities — from payroll and benefits administration to employee relations, organizational development, and compliance.

 

As an embedded member of the Iberian affiliate and a key part of the international HR community, the HRBP will combine hands-on operational excellence with a strategic

business mindset, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and partnership at every stage of the employee lifecycle. The candidate should reside in Madrid area, as the role is office based. 

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Operational HR Excellence

 

  • Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle (onboarding, development, transfers, terminations, etc.) with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee payroll, compensation, and benefits administration for Iberia, ensuring compliance with local labor legislation and internal policies.
  • Maintain employee data integrity across HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors and others).
  • Coordinate and support all internal and external HR audits, ensuring full compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze HR metrics and reports to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

 

Employee Relations & Compliance

 

  • Act as the primary contact for all employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent treatment aligned with company values and Spanish and Portugese labor law.
  • Support the Country Manager and management team in addressing performance, engagement, and disciplinary matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Keep current with Spanish and Portugese labor legislation and employment practices to anticipate and mitigate potential risks.

 

Business Partnership

 

  • Partner closely with the Country Manager to develop a strong, high-performing, and engaged organization.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to leaders to align people initiatives with business objectives.
  • Actively contribute to organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement, culture, and communication activities that strengthen the affiliate’s identity and alignment with global company values.

 

Talent & Performance Management

 

  • Support recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure attraction and retention of top talent.
  • Drive the implementation of global performance management, compensation, and talent development programs locally.
  • Identify and support local training and development needs to foster professional growth and succession readiness.

 

Collaboration & Global Alignment

 

  • Act as the local HR interface between Iberia and the global HR organization.
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate HR colleagues to ensure alignment with global programs, policies, and reporting standards.
  • Contribute actively to LATAM, EMEA, and APAC HR initiatives and share best practices across affiliates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR generalist or HRBP roles, ideally within multinational or matrix organizations.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish labor law, HR administration, payroll, and benefits management. Knowledge of Portugal is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver with accuracy and accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to partner effectively with leadership and employees.
  • Proficient in SAP SuccessFactors or similar HRIS tools.
  • Results-driven and values-focused, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, capable of diagnosing issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Acts with integrity, professionalism, and discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and resilience in dealing with evolving business priorities.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (Portugese a plus).
