Job Scope

To provide technical service (in alignment with approved local and group practice) and support to customers with instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, education and repair on our analytical devices. Promote the image of the company in co-operation with sales and specialist workforce. Become a specialist in frontline service of the device group.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide service & support to internal and external customers relevant to instrument maintenance, calibration, instrument troubleshooting and repair
  • Install methodologies on the instrumentation at customer´s premises and guarantee customer follow-up for technical/application problems
  • Make preliminary visits to laboratories to agree on positioning of the instrumentation
  • Install and test the instruments at customer site according to the time limits and methods defined
  • Participate in communication, training and support processes with colleagues that are designed to develop a highly skilled workforce capable of delivering results consistent with corporate goals and objectives
  • Understand & utilize documentation protocols & accurately & legibly complete all documentation on time to result in a product/process history consistent with GMP requirements
  • Perform & document calibration & preventative maintenance needed to result in equipment that is in good working condition, in accordance with corporate policies & in compliance with GMP and Finance
  • Salesforce management, reporting and compliance - draw up reports of the equipment activity using Salesforce software
  • Decontaminate and de-install instruments according to company procedures
  • Spare parts management and ordering - - manage and maintain correct quantity of own spare parts warehouse
  • Status update on instrument issues and customer complaints
  • Develop and continue growing relationship with LXL lead
  • Other service-related projects assigned by the company
  • Contribute to service process improvement


Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Experience installing, servicing and/or managing pathology diagnostic analysers in a manner compliant to the standard expected from NATA accredited laboratories.

  • Biomedical, engineering &/or medical science qualifications from reputable sources. Ability to demonstrate that. Please do not apply if you do not have this.

  • Possible successful experience as an Applications/Technical Specialist in clinical pathology with a desire to move in a more engineering type role and team.

  • Flexibility to work/travel after hours &/or on-call on occasion, if required. 

  • Confidence with PC architecture, interfacing and operating systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail including project management.

  • Ability and discipline to follow & work within defined operating procedures.

  • A demonstrated ability to integrate into & work well in a team environment as well as working alone.

  • A demonstrated history of superior customer support and a helpful “can do” work ethic via strong customer references.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Restricted Electrical License ( viewed favorably , not essential ).

  • Willingness to have various vaccinations.

  • Valid driver’s license. 

  • Full rights to work in Australia full-time, without conditions. 

  • Ability to satisfy background checks that may be required from our customers
