Job Scope
Expand the levels of influence of Diasorin Molecular in the national, regional and local account client base; explore and support new sales opportunities in new and existing clients; know the competition and how to differentiate Diasorin Molecular; understand how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace; and negotiate contracts to ensure thorough execution of short and long-term strategic initiatives in order to meet or exceed sales objectives. Supports applicable regulations including ISO, Local, Provincial, and/or National Requirements.

 

***Territory includes Ontario and the Western Provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia).  Ideal candidate resides in Ontario.***

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategy/Planning
  • Develop short and long term sales plans to manage backward integration of testing and rapid implementation of new tests for the national and regional laboratory client base.
  • Actively participate in meetings, training sessions, and other sales planning sessions.
  • Manage the assessment of current and future national and regional account needs, identify opportunities to expand testing menu and services to meet these needs. Work closely with R&D personnel to identify where needs, opportunities and capabilities meet.
  • Manage competitive/market intelligence and conduct market research as part of the overall strategic management of the corporate accounts.
  • Provide feedback of market intelligence to internal customers.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of national, regional and IHDN account sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness both within the Sales and Marketing Department and with other departments.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements that balance the needs of the organization with the needs of the client.
  • Grow the Diasorin test menu on all existing instruments within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain high data integrity within the CRM by keeping opportunities, visit reports, competitive test volumes, and other fields, timely and accurate
  • Meet or exceed the sales plan designed to achieve established instrument and reagent revenue goals
  • Client/Relationships
  • Effectively manage territory and key customer relationships to achieve stated objectives.
  • Establish consultative relationships with clients versus transactional sales role.
  • Effectively work at all levels of the organization to bring on, implement, and service large clients. Includes Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents, Presidents, and Senior Medical Leaders (i.e. Pathologists, I.D. Physicians, and Chief of Medical Staff).
  • Maintain internal and external client goodwill and satisfaction.

  • Meet or exceed sales revenue and performance objectives.
  • Participate in trade groups and professional organizations (i.e. AMMI-CACMID, provincial/regional groups and organizations as appropriate) etc.)

  • Act as role model for sales organization through leadership and motivational skills.
  • Administrative
  • Control selling expenses.
  • Submit key reports on time.
  • Maintain proper territory records.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with applicable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and Company EHS policies.
  • Prepare and execute business reviews, both internally and with existing customers
  • Prepare and execute monthly Sales By Objectives (SBO's) Reports with National Sales Director
  • Actively participate in and contribute to weekly 1 on 1 calls with National Sales Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in science field and 3-5 years molecular sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Clinical Diagnostic sales experience required
  • Thorough knowledge of referral laboratory marketing segments and IVD industry
  • Awareness of referral laboratory and diagnostics customer base
  • Thorough knowledge of tactical and strategic sales processes
  • Technically sound understanding of immunology, microbiology & molecular diagnostics
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
