Job Scope

Responsible for the correct execution of maintenance work and complex projects, collaborating with other company functions for the definition and compliance with technical specifications.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 Ensures the proper technical execution of work while respecting planned costs and safety, health, and environmental requirements.

  • Provides consultancy in their area of expertise regarding improvements to existing equipment;
  • Is responsible for scheduling and performing maintenance activities, including those assigned to external companies, for the plants (from budget requests to work execution);
  • Ensures compliance with safety, health, and environmental prescriptions within their activities and ensures machinery compliance with safety regulations;
  • Ensures the drafting and management of the technical documentation of the plants in accordance with Mandatory Regulations;
  • Is able to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical diagrams;
  • Manages validation and calibration activities of the plants under their responsibility, including management of procurement contracts;
  • Verifies requirements related to new process equipment with a focus on their energy efficiency;
  • Actively participates in design phases through engineering companies, following installation, commissioning, and qualification activities;
  • Contributes to defining actions deriving from changes and deviations (CAPA, risk analysis, etc.) on existing systems and participates in the development of new projects;
  • Identifies innovative solutions capable of improving the work environment and daily operational productivity;
  • Establishes and agrees with production/logistics managers the timing and priority of interventions on the various plants;
  • Ensures control and effectiveness of contractor activities and compliance with legislative, contractual, and technical regulations;
  • Handles energy efficiency, verifying the maintenance of optimal conditions on equipment and plants, and researches improvement solutions;
  • Keeps updated on technical and plant engineering developments in the market;
  • Collaborates on the development of projects related to buildings and plants, following and monitoring their execution.

 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications 

 

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
  • Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management and maintenance within complex organizations is required
  • Definition of objectives, timelines, budget, and resources.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, energy, or plant engineering.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings (P&ID, electrical and pneumatic diagrams).
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies.
  • Familiarity with techniques such as FMEA, RCA, and condition monitoring.
  • Performance analysis (MTBF, MTTR, OEE).
  • Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations.
  • Management of work permits, operational risks, and plant compliance.
  • Drafting of technical specifications.
  • Technical and economic evaluation of vendor proposals.
  • Supervision of external contractors during shutdowns and on-site activities
  • Conflict management, negotiation, and facilitation.
  • Ability to identify effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Effective communication with technicians, engineers, suppliers, and management.
  • Drafting of technical reports and documentation.
  • Ability to assess technical and economic KPIs.
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Adaptability and ability to implement new technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English
