Job Scope

Lead of the Immuno Global Operations (IGO) Center of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to AI

Exploration, evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies in AI/ML domain, supporting Diasorin’s Immuno Operations.

This role combines strategic thinking, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and sustainability.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technology Scouting & Evaluation: Research market trends and emerging AI technologies, assessing their feasibility and impact on Diasorin’s industrial processes.
  • Use Case Identification & Prioritization: Collaborate with business units to identify high-impact AI use cases and prioritize based on strategic value and ROI.
  • Process Optimization: Design and implement strategies to integrate new technologies that streamline processes, enhance efficiency, reduce energy consumption and improve product quality
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with functional stakeholders, including Site Leaders and Department Heads, to translate business needs into technical requirements, apply lean principles and promote technology adoption through solid business cases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, EHS, Quality Assurance and IT, to ensure successful technology deployment.
  • Data Strategy & Governance Support: Define best practices for data acquisition, preparation, quality, labeling, and governance to enable scalable AI development.
  • Prototyping & Project Leadership: Lead pilot projects and design experiments to test the effectiveness and efficiency of new technologies, from concept to implementation and evaluation.
  • AI Model Development & Validation Frameworks

Create standardized methodologies for developing, validating, and monitoring AI/ML models across different business applications (e.g., predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, quality prediction).

  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Support Top Management short/mid/long term investment decisions and contribute to the long-term strategic plan for AI.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain technical records of research, evaluation and implementation, train staff on new technologies and lead a global community of AI experts across industrial sites.
  • Performance & Compliance Monitoring: Define and maintain KPIs/KAIs to drive the innovation process and ensure all AI solutions comply with GxP and industry standards.

 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software, Industrial, Automation or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in AI / ML models design fields. Experience in Pharma / Diagnostics companies as a plus
  • Blend engineering expertise, creative problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing Processes/Equipment
  • Experience with digitalization I4.0 and I5.0 framework
  • Basic Lean methods and tools
  • Proven track record in managing AI projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Financial acumen
  • Understanding of GxP regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Software development skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software, statistical analysis tools and project management software as a plus
  • Effective Communication skills. Proactive approach. Ability to think creatively and drive innovative solution. Ability to work autonomously. Strong analytical mindset.
  • Fluency in English. Italian and other languages as a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% for business trips and longer missions. Openness to relocate as a plus
