The role of Global Data Junior Scientist is to innovate through data, developing solutions for data analysis to tackle complex business challenge and support the development of our devices, always keen to research and propose the most effective technologies for the Data Science use cases inside SD&I Immuno.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements efficient code for data analysis satisfying requirements specified by Data Scientist Senior
- Effectively uses open-source libraries and/or commercial tools for data visualization
- Develop complete ML/AI pipelines, from data extraction to pre-processing, elaboration and loading on database, to extract insights from raw data sources, in particular textual documentation
- Cooperates with Global Data Scientist Senior in the definition of the best technologies to handle Data Science use cases, proactively proposing innovative approaches
- Interacts with SD&I Immuno teams to discuss low-level details needed for the implementation of the use cases
- Develop new features of the SD&I Immuno data platform storing data from Immuno analyzers in field throughout the world
- Interacts with external sources to discuss low-level details about Data Science projects
- Effectively presents the results of data analysis to Global Data Scientist Senior and cooperates with him/her towards the presentation of results to SD&I Immuno management
- Cooperates with SD&I Cloud team to provide input about data need for storage on Cloud and appropriately exploit data in Cloud for business intelligence
- Ensures compliance with the Code of Ethics, the Quality Management System, the Company Policies and the Corporate Procedures.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Master of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
Experience
- Up to 2 years’ experience in an equivalent role with specific focus on:
- Data mining
- Data visualization
- Machine learning and big data analysis
- GenAI for text processing
- Optimization models (linear and non- linear programming)
- Previous experience in IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics) and/or highly regulated FDA environments and biotechnology industry experience is highly appreciated
Technical Competencies:
- Programming experience (SQL and Python mandatory)
- Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Programmatic usage of open-source and/or proprietary LLMs
- Hands-on experience with data platforms (e.g., Databricks) would be a plus
- Experience with major cloud services, with a preference for Microsoft Azure, would be a plus
- Experience using Microsoft Office package
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is appreciated
- Experience with working under ISO 13485 is appreciated
