Job Scope

The International Field Service Engineer is responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.  The position requires the exercising of judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.  Compliance of field service technical standards is required. Monitoring of field service policies, procedures, standards, company policies and procedures is mandatory. 

The International Field Engineer will be responsible for covering primarily Benelux region. Ideally the successful candidate will be based either in Southern Part of the Netherlands, (Breda/Tilburg/Eindhoven). Occasional travel outside the territory of responsibility may be required, to support different regions.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies
  • Install and repair scientific instrumentation manufactured by Luminex Corporation at customer locations within a multi-state geographic region.
  • Manage an expense account, service tools and spare parts inventories.
  • Interface daily with internal and external customers
  • Submit written reports
  • Utilize the CRM system to capture full documentation of all calls and entering appropriate codes to ensure accurate history of reporting trends and corrective actions
  • Meeting departmental expectations regarding the following:
    • Response time
    • PM completion Rates
    • Service callbacks
    • Customer Satisfaction Survey Results
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, and Qualifications 

 

  • Technical Engineering degree: diploma in electronics, mechanics or optics.
  • Minimum of Associates degree in Electronics/Mechanical engineering & 2 years’ experience in Field Service or within the in a biomedical support environment. 
  • Position requires a high level of proficiency with complex optical/electrical/mechanical and fluidic systems. 
  • Must be well versed in operating, trouble-shooting and rectifying problems with complex instrumentation. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in the field or office.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times are essential. 
  • Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
  • Must be well versed in translating and communicating customer needs to all facets of the organization including Research and Development, Applications Development, Production and Sales.
