Location: Field Based, Remote Role
Position Summary
The Senior Director Commercial Lab is responsible for leading a company's Commercial Lab Sales team and developing sales strategies to drive revenue growth. The primary role is to develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. This strategy includes identifying target markets, developing pricing strategies, and creating sales tactics for promoting the company's products or services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Leads the sales and overall sales strategy to drive achievement of the annual sales plan
• Partners with marketing to determine appropriate sales strategies and tactics to achieve specific product line and market segment objectives.
• Lead the sales forecasting process, providing monthly/quarterly revenue and instrument placement forecasts as required by the business unit.
• Provide vision and guidance to the organization to address competitive and changing market dynamics.
• Active participant in key sales cycles driving accounts to close
• Participate in the financial planning process for both one-year budget and three-year business plan.
• Manage departmental budgets and expenses within stated guidelines.
• Lead the process of developing appropriate compensation programs for sales representatives/management.
• Ensure that all sales activities are within the Ethics, Compliance and Regulatory policies and procedures of Diasorin and all USA regulations governing our businesses.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with applicable safety regulations and instructions, as well as correcting unsafe work habits and practices and/or bringing to the attention of the Safety Team or a supervisor any practice or condition that may be detrimental to the safety and health of the employees.
• Ensuring the proper use of CRM databases and tools to track performance
• Leading the team and inspiring high performance by providing strong mentorship, coaching, and guidance
• Monitoring market trends and providing regular competitor analysis
Other Duties and Responsibilities

Education, Experience, and Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Science, Medical Laboratory Science or Biotechnology
• M.B.A or Graduate qualification in Business or Technology preferred
• 10+ years of senior sales/marketing management experience in the IVD industry. Must include substantial experience in the U.S. market working with both assays and instruments
• Experience interacting with senior level healthcare executives and in developing successful relationships with strategic customers and business partners
• Experience in strategy development, organizational change, finance and accounting for managers
• Experience in marketing preferred
• Exceptional customer presentation skills, ability to present to both customer and internal executives at a high level
• Demonstrated track record of driving sales growth, customer expansion and market share growth
• Knowledge of the diagnostics market, products, and competitors, including the clinical areas of infectious disease and healthcare associated infections
• Ability to analyze the market, competitors and company strengths and weaknesses while devising winning sales strategies
• Excellent analytical skills and solid business acumen with ability to balance the needs of the marketplace with sound business judgment
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and manage sales organizations to achieve business unit goals
• Proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SFDC or other CRM.
• Skilled at preparing written materials such as reports, presentations and proposals
Working Conditions
Physical Demands, Travel, etc.
• Travel: Up to 50% as required.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer requiring repeated motions of arms, wrists and hands.
• Occasionally moves in and around the workplace for purposes of accessing office equipment, meeting with others, etc.
• Occasionally lifts up to 15 pounds.
• Standing and Sitting is required.
• Potential for work on Weekdays, Weekends, and/or Holidays.
