Job Scope
The Global SW Development Engineer Junior Molecular will provide software programming expertise for the software required by DiaSorin to satisfy the needs of customers, assay developers, instrument manufacturers and servicing departments, in regards to development of new computerized instruments and improvement of existing instruments for medical diagnostics,
• through a motivational, professional, quality-driven and proactive attitude,
• with the target of building a solid Corporate know-how, in order to transfer to DiaSorin Customers the best quality and innovation in products and services
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of software code diagnostics instrumentation and related diagnostic tests for the medical device industry as a team member and individual contributor in the software group
- Design, create, review and update software specifications and software designs derived from user requirements in collaboration with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to the software and firmware under development or maintenance according to DiaSorin procedures.
- Contribute actively to troubleshoot software under development and release software including being a point of contact for other groups
- Investigate anomalous and/or uncommon situations and participate in risk assessments
- Create, review and perform software unit test plans and protocols.
- Interact with the other development areas within the Team ("Hardware", "Assay Integration", “Product Development”), in order to investigate the feasibility of proposed implementations and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, the Company Policies and the Corporate Procedures, working collaboratively with Quality and Regulatory and Clinical groups.
- Responsible for performing assigned tasks in accordance with applicable safety regulations and instructions, as well as correcting unsafe work habits and practices and/or bringing to the attention of the supervisor any practice or condition that may be detrimental to the safety and health of the employees.
- Continued personal development in software programming, emerging software technologies, Secure Coding Best Practices and developing an in-depth knowledge of QMS and Regulatory requirements for developing Medical Device software
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Degree in STEM Area
1-2 years of demonstratable experience in computer programming is required through coursework, internships, or previous employment
Previous experience with biomedical instrumentation is highly appreciated
Basic understanding of software design principles and object oriented approach for creating software applications in Microsoft .NET
Experience developing and producing a software application as part of a team in .NET
High interest in emerging software technologies such as Cloud development, AI, Machine Learning is desirable
Basic understanding of the major components of a Software Development Lifecycle (Requirements, Specifications, Design, Development, Verification)
Knowledge of iterative software development methods is a plus
Proficient using Microsoft Office package.
Accuracy, comprehension of complex technical issues and ability to make them understood all levels and groups
High problem-solving and decision-making capability using effective negotiation and analytical skills focused on results and project schedules
Aptitude for learning new programming languages
Interdisciplinary thought and quality awareness
Well organized, ability to work collaboratively as part of a dispersed team from Italy and USA
